I never realized how difficult it would be to find a matcha latte in Cairns. And if you’re reading this you’re probably having the same problem. I found that even when I’ve Google mapped matcha lattes in the area, many of the cafes no longer serve them or there aren’t very many options. Guide to Cairns: Best Gluten-free Eats

If you’re gluten-free, you know how difficult and stressful it can be to travel to new places, especially when the ones you’re traveling with aren’t also gluten-free. So if you’re traveling to Cairns or have just moved here, I’ve done some of the work for you. I’ve found some of the best spots to eat that aren’t the usual bread-substitute or grilled-instead-of-fried places that your non-gluten-free friends and family will also enjoy. My husband isn’t gluten-free so trust me when I say the food is actually enjoyable for everyone 🙂

Author Aesthetic: Virginia Woolf

Something many may not know about Virginia Woolf is that she had a fondness for clothing. During the 1920s, fashion was changing for women, prioritizing comfort with looser cuts, dropped waistlines, raised hemlines, and more affordable materials such as jersey were becoming more widely used. Virginia Woolf embraced this increase in selection for women. She even considered “frock consciousness” to be one of the many states of consciousness we all have: “My present reflection is that people have any number of states of consciousness: & I should like to investigate the party consciousness, the frock consciousness.” She further explained this state of consciousness in Orlando when she wrote concerning clothing: “They change our view of the world and the world’s view of us.” So “frock consciousness” was the “impact that clothes have on both our inner and outer states of being.”
