What I’m doing during social-distancing so that I don’t completely lose my mind

Social-distancing has not only become mandatory but it’s looked down on if you’re seen 2 inches too close to someone. My how the tables have turned. It’s like every introvert’s dream. The introverts are finally not looked down on for refusing to socialize. So being homebound isn’t exactly torture but contrary to popular belief, we do actually enjoy getting out of the house every once in a while just to do things alone. Are you truly even an introvert if you haven’t gone to a movie, a restaurant, or a concert alone? Now we can’t even do that.

This is how I treat my anxiety

The thing with anxiety is every fear and worry you have makes sense and is actually real to you. Your surroundings in a social situation become a danger zone yet being alone causes you to dig yourself deeper into a hole of irrational thoughts. It’s different for everyone but it seems that no matter what you do to escape your own thoughts they will be patiently waiting for you when you let your guard down — and then suddenly you can’t breathe, the world is spinning, and you feel like your choking … a panic attack, for no apparent reason.

New Zealand | Christchurch to Auckland

It was only a couple weeks ago that my husband and I booked a last minute trip to New Zealand. I wish I could say it was a decision that stemmed from our desire to live spontaneously but for the most part it was because it was time for me to renew my Australia travel visa. Can’t really complain about actually being forced to go on an overseas trip, and since we’ve been wanting to visit New Zealand for some time now, we decided to take advantage of this situation.
