With so many new books that are published every year, it’s easy for books on your TBR to get drowned out by the new releases. In 2023 I shared 23 books I wanted to read in 2023. This list contained a mixture of new releases and classics I have been meaning to read for years. I only read 9 of those books, but it was nice to be able to refer to this list on my Notion when looking for my next read. I’m a big mood reader, so if I didn’t feel like reading any of the books on that list I didn’t pressure myself to (clearly).
So now this is my list for 2024 (with a couple repeats from last year):
- Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt
- Keeper of the Lost Cities: Everblaze by Shannon Messenger
- Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman
- Pineapple Street by Jenny Jackson
- Red Rising by Pierce Brown
- Every Summer After by Carley Fortune
- 20, 000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne
- Bleak House by Charles Dickens
- The Housemaid by Freida McFadden
- The Grandest Game by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
- The Reappearance of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson
- The Will of the Many by James Islington
- The School for Good Mothers by Jessamine Chan
- Mansfield Park by Jane Austen
- Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett
- How to be Both by Ali Smith
- The Scandalous Sisterhood of Prickwillow Place by Julie Berry
- The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath by Silvia Plath
- Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner
- 1984 by George Orwell
- A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
- We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson
- Stardust by Neil Gaiman
- A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce

What are some of the books on your TBR list for this year?
